Film: On Her Majesty's Secret Service

This beautiful, unspoilt Atlantic strand was the scene of the pre-title sequence for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service - where George Lazenby (in his only outing as 007) rescues Diana Rigg from the surf and fights off some hired goons.

The beach, close to Lisbon, is still pristine but can be a bit blowy, so either take a windbreak or your windsurf board or kitesurfing rig if you’re feeling particularly sporty.
