Fire extinguishers at the ready - Germany's Margravial opera house is built entirely from wood. Built between 1746 and 1750, it was designed by renowned theatre architect Giuseppe Galli Bibiena and is one of the last remaining 18th century theatres in Europe. And the reason for its construction? Margravial was built to commemorate the engagement, in 1744, of Elisabeth Friederike Sophie of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, who was just twelve years old at the time, to Duke Carl Eugen von Württemberg.
